And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Dr. Bob Jones, Sr. once said, “Your character is what God knows you to be; your reputation is what men think you are.” But, it is a blessed thing when both character and reputation are one and the same. The world is looking for Christians who are not just Christians in word only, but in word and deed.
That was the reputation of Ruth. What she was on the inside was demonstrated on the outside. She made it a point to live a godly life and it was rewarded. Oh, now there will be those that ridicule and make fun of the one that dares to be different for God, but mark it down, they are revealing the true nature of their heart by their actions. It’s hard to hide the truth. Eventually, what we really are comes to the surface.
Righteous character is a virtue that needs to be cultivated by every Christian. Someone is watching and what he or she believes about Christ will be determined by what they see in your life.
