Finally, I am able to use the internet again as I once was. Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this. So here we are. With a little luck I will be able to keep this going for you … I hope you do enjoy them.
And Gadaliah sware to them, and to their men, and said unto them, Fear not to be the servants of the Chaldees; dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon; and it shall be well with you. (2 Kings 25:24, cf. Heb. 12:5-11)
Who loves his child more – the father who allows the child to do what will harm him, or the one who corrects, trains, and even punishes the child to help him learn what is right? The answer to that question should be obvious, but sad to say there are many that would not pick the wrong answer.
Disciple makes us stronger as Christians. To try avoiding God’s hand of correction is only to bring even more bitter consequencces to our lives. Chastening is something none of us enjoy, but it is a necessary practice if we are to grow as God’s children and it is a sign of his deep love for you. When God corrects you, see it as proof of his love and ask him what he is trying to teach you.
