And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee … And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
Between these two verses of Scripture is one of the greatest miracles in all of the Bible. God made the earth stand still (v.12-14). The laws of nature were stopped for God’s people to acquire the victory that He had promised them. What an answer to prayer! There are those that would not accept the fact that we have a God that could do this and try to disprove the miracle by natural means, but I believe it really happened!
Does this mean that we can do something like Joshua did as well? Yes! If it is within the Lord’s will. God hears the prayer of faith of His children and He supplies what they need to meet the need. Even altering the laws of nature if it is necessary. But, isn’t that what a miracle is? Isn’t it outside the laws of the natural and into the realm of the supernatural?
Prayer done in believing faith is a powerful weapon in the Christian’s arsenal. It is one that we rarely use and for the most part remains undeveloped in our lives. Who is it we serve? Is it a God that can perform miracles or is it a God that can’t? The Lord said unto Joshua and he believed Him enough to make a specific prayer and od heard the prayer of faith. That’s why Joshua said unto them. He knew from experience that they served a living God. And we do too!
Do you need better weather? If it is in God’s plan for you He will provide it. Just ask. Leave the answer with Him and He will provide what you need to accomplish what He has called you to do. Remember, never the less, not my will, but thine be done … and it will be.
