“But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?”
You can’t always tell what’s inside by what one sees on the outside. The saying “You can’t judge a book by its cover” is applicable to this situation.
Judas, one of the twelve, traveled with Jesus, saw the miracles, saw the multitudes, heard the message of God’s Word from the living Word himself, but still he wore his disguise.
We may not be able to see the motive of one’s heart, but God can. “… Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man …”
We may be able to hide our deadly attack by the outward disguise (2Sam.20:9,10), we may be able to cover up our inward motives by deceiving words of smooth talk (Ps.55:21), but God knows.
What kind of relationship do I really have with God? When I kiss Jesus is it a kiss motivated by sincerity or deception?
